To Kill a Mockingbird book cover
My take on Harper Lee's classic. To intrigue the potential reader without making the plot too obvious, I chose to illustrate a mockingbird being trapped within the title while at the same it's the detail of a face on the background.
The font, both on the cover and spine, is a custom type created from scratch, inspired from 1930's American typography. Later, I further customised it for the cover to make it part of the composition rather than a separate element.
